This scheme operates under F.O.T.L's constitution. It is a group of interested individuals who are creating memory packs: collections of themed objects and memorabilia for use in reminiscience work. Reminiscience is fun and an important activity which can help to restore a person's sense of identity and self worth. The packs act as a useful springboard for enjoyable and therapeutic conversations, they can stimulate reassuring and comforting memories, with friends, relatives, in residential & nursing homes and community groups.
The packs will be available for loan by library members. This will be a new service that will help everyone have access to the library including those members of our community whose cognitive powers (memory and reading ability)are on the decline.
